Working From Home - Self Care Tips From Our Glow Community
Hey everyone,
How are you doing? I know for many of us out there this is a very uncertain time. You may be feeling anxious, alone or find yourself struggling to settle down to working from home (WFH).
And so we reached out to our Instagram and Facebook communities for tips on how to survive and thrive WFH. We received tons of advice, recommendations and amazing ideas and below are some of my favourites and the most suggested advice.
Start each day with gratitude
Every morning, before you get out of bed, think of three things you are grateful for, for example, you may be grateful to wake up with a roof over your head, access to food and clean water or to be surrounded by your loved ones. Expressing gratitude for the things you have can help put things into perspective when you start to feel low or anxious.
Complete a home workout
Raising your heart rate, toning your body and getting your sweat on whilst at home helps to release tension, stress and helps to boost positive emotions and endorphins.
Limit screentime
We get it, it's difficult, there's been a surge in Insta-lives lately, and don't even get us started with Hostparty, but when it's time to switch off and especially before going to bed shut out the technology. Artificial blue light can wreak havoc on your sleeping pattern and too much of it can damage your skin.
Stay connected with friends, family and furry pets
Group FaceTime with friends and family is as fun as it is emotionally uplifting, keeping up to date with what your loved ones and seeing their faces keeps everyone connected.
Tidy as you work
Not everyone has the luxury of having separate rooms or office space in their house, so making sure what dedicated area you do designate as your workspace will help to maintain your motivation to work. Remember to tidy up your space at the end of each day, so you can start the new day in a clean, fresh area.
Treat yourself regularly
It's important, especially in times like this for you to treat and be kind to yourself. Eat all the snacks, watch a Netflix episode (or 10), up your skincare routine and dedicate time out throughout your day that's boost those happy emotions.
Still your mind with meditation
Musical therapy such as 432hz music alongside meditation helps ease anxiety, bring down the heart rate and blood pressure, and generally has a soothing effect.
For more WFH self-care tips and to stay connected we have created a private group called The Glow Co (short for Community) on Facebook, where we can all share tips on how to maintain our inner and outer glow during this time. To be added to the group please send your request here
Take care and stay safe.
See you in the group 💚
